Tracking is not enough: they want to change the game in fleet management

In a new article from Lastbilmagasinet, Jaxicloud Fleet Management focuses on the development within fleet management – and why classic tracking is no longer sufficient.

The article describes how data, security and AI are increasingly merging, and how future solutions must be more intelligent and user-friendly.

At our company, we are working to make data more accessible and manageable through a flexible and user-adapted frontend, so that each individual user gains maximum value.

A fleet management veteran sees a market in transition, where data, security and AI merge – and where classic tracking is no longer enough

After more than 25 years in the telematics industry, Brian Clemens believes that fleet management is in the middle of a shift. A shift where GPS tracking alone is no longer sufficient – and where hauliers are increasingly demanding overview, security and concrete operational tools in one unified solution.

– I have worked with tracking since 1999, and the requirements and needs are completely different today, says Brian Clemens.

Today he is the founder and co-owner of Jaxicloud Fleet Management, which aims to position itself in the development where data is not just collected – but actively used to manage the business.

From fleet management to ‘intelligence’

According to Brian Clemens, the term fleet management has actually become too narrow.

– We don’t call it fleet management, we call it an ‘intelligence management system’.

Behind the formulation lies an ambition to gather a wide range of functions in one platform. In addition to classic tracking, it includes everything from anti-theft and driver safety to tachograph data, tire pressure monitoring and route planning.

– It is much more than just fleet management. It is a set of tools in an all-in-one solution for hauliers at a low cost.

This broad approach is also one of the factors that has attracted interest from larger players in the industry.

– No one else can do what we can, says Brian Clemens.

Collaboration with a large haulier
A meeting at the transport fair in Herning was the starting point for a collaboration with Alex Andersen Ølund A/S in Odense, which today both uses the system and is a co-owner.

– We had something exciting in fleet management, and they could see the possibilities in how they could extract data from our system.

The collaboration reflects a trend in the market where transport companies increasingly involve themselves in the development of digital tools – not least to get solutions that match daily operations.

A market in motion

At Jaxicloud Fleet Management, it is pointed out that the development is moving from simple monitoring to more advanced, data-driven platforms. Here, data from vehicles, sensors and systems are combined so that they can be used for everything from preventing accidents to optimizing fuel consumption and handling battery data for electric trucks.

– A lot is happening within telematics these years, concludes Brian Clemens.
